About Us
Who We Are
A collaborative network of eight world-leading UK research institutions, combining scientific capacity with policy expertise to deliver sustainable transport solutions in developing economies.
Our Mission
The Transport Research into Practice (TRiP) is a collaborative network that will facilitate the reach of UK excellence and expertise and enhance the UK’s contribution to sustainable transport solutions in developing economies through bilateral and multilateral programmes. Coordinated by the UK FCDO, it builds on substantial programmes focused on improving sustainable transport in LMICs such as High-Volume Transport (HVT) and the Research on Infrastructure in Developing Economies (RIDE), and on an extensive project portfolio from the partner institutions.
TRiP will have a unique drive for innovative ideas, novel tools and methods, and the exploration of emerging technologies to address critical barriers to the improvement of transport’s contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The network combines scientific capacity with policy expertise for more impactful projects with clear contributions to the reduction of emissions and improvement of access to transport.
With an initial network of high calibre research organisations in the UK, TRiP will be scalable to welcome new institutions in the UK and abroad that can contribute to wider impact through applied research. TRiP is a transformational platform developed to help research projects focus on societal impacts, while supporting decision makers with scientific evidence across the globe.
